• July: My Favorite Month Is Here!

My favorite month of the year is here, July! This month, I will be #twentylive 😎 and I cannot wait 💃🏾 July 1st couldn’t have fallen on a better day— Sunday, as that is the day when my zodiac is its most relaxed. Additionally, my horoscope seems to reflect my real life situation: JUL 1, 2018: Repeated requests for you to alter your behavior can be hard to take — after all, there’s nothing quite as annoying as someone telling you to ‘chill out’. You’re in charge of your own feelings, and that’s valid. You should feel what you feel when you feel it, and not have to apologize. However,…

  • Havana, Cuba

With this blog post, I am all caught up with sharing what I’ve been up to. If you’d like to know about the day my friends and I made Chiles en Nogada, or what I did after I finished my comprehensive examinations, or anything else in between– now would be the time to follow me on instagram. I will not really write about Cuba in this post since I am tired of it. Cuba is a beautiful country, not unlike other Caribbean countries; however, right-wing Cubans in Miami mad at the fact that I simply visited Cuba has made talking about Cuba almost exhausting. If you would like to see…

  • Late Post 3: Miami Food Finds

“Bubble Tea Miami” On Saturday, arch 31st I woke up craving a bubble tea. Instead of going to my favorite weekend spot for bubble tea– SpecialTEA Lounge, I decided to try someplace new instead. That is how I found out about Bubble Tea Miami…and I also saw them on instagram maybe a week prior to visiting. Unlike conventional bubble tea shops, they had differing flavours and they make their tea differently. Bubble Tea Miami is family owned and out from the West Coast– which I did appreciate, but their lack of conventional flavors did present me with a problem. I had to try something not only new, but also very…

  • Late Post 2: Montego Bay, Jamaica

Since this is a late post, I should say that I went to Montego Bay Jamaica on April 24th and returned back to Miami on the 29th. So, I was in Jamaica for 5 days and 4 nights and my visit to the country was limited to Montego Bay. Unlike Barbados, you cannot drive the entire island of Jamaica in a Day– and because my stay was not as long as it was in Trinidad and Tobago, I did not do much sight seeing outside of Montego Bay. That being said, I really enjoyed Montego Bay, although I would not necessarily travel there without company. The streets are not that…

  • Late Post 1: Long New York Weekend

Whoa, it has been a LONG while since I’ve last updated this blog and BGGS. Thankfully, this is just a relaxed blog, am I right? Haha. But no, it has really been a long time and a lot longer than I ever thought that I would go without blogging. So, the question you must all be asking is: “what happened?” The truth is, while I was in New York, I did post on my other blog. I wrote this piece and later on, I went to Jamaica (which I will also be updating you on today) and posted this piece. Honestly however, I’ve just been overall unmotivated to sit down…

  • PlannerCon 2018, San Francisco Weekend: Day 3

Sunday, March 4 On Sunday, I got a lot of sightseeing done! …Yes, I did skip out on my workshop session #4: Digital Tricks and Planning –because I questioned the type of practical advice I would be given. It also did not help that this workshop leader gave a speech on Saturday afternoon, and again on Sunday morning.  I was getting an overload from him it seemed. I did support his non-profit for Foster Youth– called Evolve U– on Friday night, and had a nice conversation with one of the Foster Youth. I also stayed for Sunday’s opening by Louise and got to hear Nicole Rixon from Sweet Stamp Shop…

  • PlannerCon 2018, San Francisco Weekend: Day 2

Saturday, March 3 Because I have a habit of sleeping early and waking up late, I woke up at 5:11AM on Saturday morning Pacific Standard Time (PST)— whomp. I had to get up early anyway to visit the Hotel’s gift shop, because on Friday night I realized that I didn’t pack my toothpaste. I preface Saturday with this to tell you: never forget your toothpaste! $6.99 for a travel toothpaste is ridiculous!  Anyway, Saturday was officially the first day of PlannerCon. I woke up early and met my #soloyolo buddy downstairs at 7:30AM in the hotel for breakfast— which was amazing! Candied pecan pancakes and eggs at 3SIXTY: We then…

  • PlannerCon 2018, San Francisco Weekend: Day 1

Initially, this was going to be one post about my entire weekend at PlannerCon 2018. However, I am heeding my mom’s advice and will stop making excessively long blog posts, in favor of shorter ones. You can read Saturday and Sunday’s post up on my blog in the read next section. Friday, March 2 At 6:30AM on Friday I called a Lyft to drive me to Miami International Airport. By 8:40AM I was well on my way to San Francisco to attend PlannerCon 2018. After landing, I met up with someone I was speaking to in the PlannerCon Social group, to go and see the Golden Gate Bridge together. We were…

  • Black Panther. A Review

On Friday, February 23rd I finally saw the movie Black Panther! I went with eight other graduate students to watch it at the AMC 18 Tamiami theatre at 6:20PM. 6:20PM was the only showing that had enough seats for all of us! We did have to get tickets prior to, because even though the movie had been out the weekend prior, it was still selling out quick. Admittedly, I had wanted to see it on its opening weekend, however, although I was totally willing to avoid all of my responsibilities to see the movie on February 15th, my friends were not. I also had other concerns, particularly whether or not…

  • Finally, A (Healthy) Brunch Shop in South Florida!

For those that know me, brunch is my favorite meal to have on the weekends. It most likely has to do with the fact that I sleep in a lot longer on the weekends— with my preferred wake-up time being after 11am… although I do sometimes settle for 10am. When I wake up around this time, I do not care how close it is to noon (or even if it is noon by the time I’m finished with my morning duties), but I want breakfast food as an option. Nothing heavy, just my fruits, juice, and a pancake or waffle. Now, I live in “Miami,” and one may think that…
